Mokai Station

Mokai Station

Mokai Station is one of the larger Taihape hill country stations and for many who have worked on Mokai it holds a special place in their pasts. It is a dramatic and scenic property.

Mokai Station lies at the head of the very picturesque Mokai Valley – 30 Kilometres north-east of Taihape. It is bounded by the Rangitikei, Whakarekau, Maungatira and Marapia Rivers. And the Ruahine State Forest Park on three sides with Colenso Station and Awarua Farm on the other side.

Mokai is 1900ha and runs from 1480 feet above sea level to approximately 5200 feet above sea level (being purportedly the highest privately owned farmland in the North Island of New Zealand).

It has 30ha of ash flats with remaining steep broken papa and sandstone country rising to the greywhake rock based Ruahine Ranges and sub alpine Mokai Patea Range.

This farm is owned by Jessamine Corpe who is dedicated to Mokai Station’s ongoing growth and development.
